Zhijian is the CEO of Woodsford Capital Management Pte Ltd (WCM), the largest passive strategy manager in Singapore.
Zhijian spends most of his time at Woodsford conducting investment related research – his main areas of interest are in the area of tactical and strategic asset allocation, factor investing and behavioral finance.
Zhijian follows an evidentialist philosophy which has greatly influenced his approach to investing. Based on rigorous research, Zhijian believes that it is in the best interest of investors to always remember three fundamental investment rules: low cost, systematic and long term. Based on these three investment pillars, Zhijian and his team have designed the Woodsford Foundation Strategy, a multi-asset global allocation strategy suitable for long term investors.
Prior to founding Woodsford Capital Management, Zhijian worked as a commodities trader, first at Wilmar in Singapore, and subsequently at the ED&F Man Group, in London and in Singapore.
Zhijian holds a Masters degree from National University of Singapore and a Bachelor degree from Fudan University. Zhijian is also a CFA Charter Holder. He is the author of China 88 – The real China and how to deal with it (English) and Investment wisdom of a little tortoise (Mandarin). Zhijian is a regular media contributor on economic matters (Business Times, Reuters, Economic Times, Lianhe Zaobao) and he has more than 100,000 followers on his social networks in China. Zhijian runs a very popular podcast called “Wu Zhijian’s evidentialist channel” that is available on Itune podcasts.
