Limitation period

Limitation period

The period of time within which court action must be commenced in order to avoid a claim becoming unenforceable through the courts.  In England this is not automatic so the claim may still be progressed unless/until the defendant raises limitation as a defence

Different types of claims have different limitation periods and limitation periods vary between jurisdictions
