Legal Services Board

Legal Services Board

Set up under the Legal Services Act 2007 to oversee the regulation of legal professionals by approved regulators (for example, the SRA and Bar Council) and the Office for Legal Complaints

The Legal Services Board is independent of both the government and the legal profession, and likewise requires the regulators it oversees to be independent as well as competent and to operate to consistent standards.  Its aim is to ensure that regulation in the legal services sector is carried out in the public interest
